The signing of former West Bromwich Albion and Stoke City forward Saido Berahino by Sheffield Wednesday has got the club fans talking.
The 28-year-old becomes the Owl’s 14th signing of the summer transfer window following a move from Belgian side Zulte Waregem.
Berahino started his career at West Brom from the under 12s before signing a senior contract in 2011 having progressed through the youth ranks.
His arrival at S6 is a reunion with Darren Moore who was captain at the Center of Excellence when he signed for the baggies as a youngster. It is also understood that the player had rejected offers from Championship sides and took huge pay cuts to play at Hillsborough.
Since leaving Stoke City in 2019 in search of first division football, the Burundi international has also had a loan spell with Charleroi where he notched just two goals in 16 appearances.
His premier league experience will come handy for the Owls and many are optimistic that he will come good which may propel him to the topflight again.
