Sheffield Wednesday fans raise concern over Ipswich COVID-19 protocols

The proposed COVID-19 protocol at Ipswich Town has left some fans of Sheffield Wednesday disappointed and threatening a boycott.

As a pass to witness the match between the League One clubs come 25th September, proof of lateral flow negative test result or full vaccination would be required at Portman Road on match day. The club has also insisted on certain arrival times which has caused some stir among opponent fans.

Fans had initially hoped it will be business as usual but are now worried that the guidelines may bar them from accessing the stadium on match day.  

Reactions trailed a social media post by Sheffield Wednesday which clearly states that fans who have not complied with the directives will not be allowed admitted.

Recalled that the government advised organizers of elite sports events to ensure adequate coordination and organisation with spectator safety and management.

All away fans should boycott.
If not this will be the norm.deny them the away fans gate receipts.

We’ll consult the FSA to look what’s happening elsewhere and what their view is. It’s a very tricky issue. We all want everyone to safe first and foremost.
